The hotel and catering sector accounts for 33.1% of jobs in Lanzarote, according to data from ISTAC.
Unsurprisingly, the percentage rises in the tourist municipalities. In Yaiza the hotel and catering sector accounts for 65.9% of jobs, in Tías it accounts for 52.1% and in Teguise it accounts for 46.8%.
Services outside of hotel and catering accounts for the majority of employment in the municipalities of Arrecife (52.02%), San Bartolomé (47.66%) and Haría (40.19%).
The construction sector accounts for 6.95% of jobs on the island, while industry accounts for 3.4% and agriculture 1%.
