A young woman was rescued yesterday after falling five metres from Arrecife’s main pier.
Emergency services were contacted at 1.30 pm and found that the woman was seated at the foot of the pier, on the promontory named Punta de la Lagarta, and was complaining of severe pain in her legs.
Firemen climbed down to reach her, placed her in a neck brace and hoisted her back up to the pier in a rescue stretcher.
The victim was taken to hospital.
