Canary Islands received over 1 million foreign tourists a month

For the first time in its history, the Canary Islands have received more than one million foreign tourists per month for over a year.

In August this year 1.16 million foreign tourists travelled to the Canary Islands, 9.67% more than in August 2023.

In total for the year the islands have recorded 9.86 million foreign tourists, which is 10.25% more than the same period in 2023.

At the same time, tourist spending figures in the Canary Islands has been increasing with a 14% increase in spending this August (1,953.95 million euros total) compared to August 2023. On average in the Canaries, each tourist spent 1,676 euros in August, with an average of 200 euros per day.
