Wednesday saw water cuts in 37 towns and villages, as Lanzarote’s water crisis continues.
Canal Gestión, the island’s water supplier, said the cuts were due to a “fall in water reserves following an “interruption of the electricity supply in the Lanzarote III and IV desalination areas, which has made it necessary to suspend supplies to several areas”
In Haría, the cuts affected Haría, Ye, Órzola, Máguez, Arrieta, Punta Mujeres and Mala. In Teguise, Los Valles, Teguise, Teseguite, Nazaret, Guatiza, Tao, Soo, Muñique, Tiagua and Famara.
Montaña Blanca, Güime, San Bartolomé and Playa Honda were the towns affected in San Bartolomé, while Tinajo saw cuts in La Vegueta, Montaña Blanca, El Cuchillo, Tinguatón and La Santa.
Arrecife was also affected, with cuts in Argana Alta, Argana Baja, La Concha and El Cable; while Mácher, Masdache, Tegoyo, Conil and La Asomada suffered cuts in Tías. Only the municipality of Yaiza escaped any cuts.
