11 million tourists come to the Canary Islands

Almost 11 million tourists have arrived on the Canaries in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 10% on the same period last year.

10.9 million tourists came to the island up until the end of October, a figure that adds up to almost 15% of all visitors to Spain.

The Canarian tourists spent an estimated total of €16.5 billion on holidays.  As usual, the British market continues to be by far the most important for Spain, spending 19.5% of tourist income, and increasing spending by 9.3% this September compared to last year.
