Fire fighters were called to the Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen yesterday, after reports that a van had caught fire while on the move.
Upon arrival, fire fighters saw the plume of smoke coming from the vehicle and promptly moved into action to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.
A perimeter was set up around the vehicle as the emergency services waited for a crane to arrive to remove the van from the Avenida de Las Playas, as it was blocking the lane of traffic.
After its removal, fire fighters cleared the road of any remaining debris and reopened the road.
