Yaiza Mayor Óscar Noda has claimed that cruise ships will be operating in Playa Blanca by this year or next.
Noda made the claim after a meeting with Canarian Mobility Minsiter Pablo Rodríguez, saying “The councillor assures us that Promotur Turismo Canarias is already in charge of channelling the marketing strategy of our port for cruise tourism.”
Noda said, “the commitment that the minister conveys to us is that cruise ships will arrive in Playa Blanca, if not this year, then in 2026, through the efforts of Promotur.”
