Ryanair will open two new routes from Lanzarote, connecting the island with Dajla in Western Sahara and adding a route to Milan Malpensa in addition to the existing flights to Milan Bergamo.
The Irish airline has also said it will increase its seats by 15% this summer, bringing a possible 1.5 million tourists to the island.
The announcement comes after Ryanair CEO, Michael O’ Leary, showed images of the Spanish Consumers Minister, Pablo Bustinduy, dressed as a clown. O’ Leary called the minister a “crazy communist” after Spain fined Ryanair and other airlines for charging for hand luggage, making passengers pay extra for adjacent seats to accompany dependent persons, or charging “a disproportionate amount” for printing the ticket in the terminal.
