Arrecife anti-noise association criticises open-air concert

An Arrecife anti-noise association has criticised the open-air concert that was staged at Playa Reducto on Monday for the filming of Netflix show La Reina del Flow.

The group claims that the event caused “14 hours of uninterrupted noise with soundchecks, shouting through megaphones and continuous recording” and allege that it “collapsed the city on a working day, with no consideration for those who are working, studying or trying to rest.”

The anti-noise platform has complained preciously about Arrecife’s decisions to hold events at the newly-pedestrianised area of Playa Reducto, as well as other zones such as the Ginory parking area where the Navilan Christmas fair was held and the Lanzarote Marina.

They claim that such events regularly exceed legal noise limits and affect the lives of residents living nearby. The group has called for events to be relocated away from residential areas.
