IKEA opened its first hotel in the Canary Islands last month in Gran Canaria.

The “Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique House” is IKEA’s newly opened 2-star boutique hotel in Gran Canaria, located just five minutes away from Playa de Las Alcaravaneras.
You might expect such a hotel to be plastered in IKEA’s iconic logos, colour scheme and sporting their ever popular flatpack furniture. However, the hotel’s appearance is actually quite different.
The boutique hotel is short in stature, spread across just two floors with a modern design and, of course, brand new furniture.
Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique House offers adults-only rooms with private bathrooms, air-conditioning, and parquet floors. Guests can relax on its sun terrace, garden and outdoor swimming pool.
The hotel is also equipped with a lift, housekeeping service, express check-in and check-out, luggage storage and a minibar.
Las Dunas de Santa Catalina Boutique House is the first of two new hotels that IKEA plans to open in Gran Canaria. The second one, called “Las Vegas de Ciudad Jardín Suites”, will be built on two adjacent villas on the same block – one with eight rooms and the other with 13 rooms.
