Arrecife raises Blue Flag at Playa El Reducto

Arrecife’s Playa El Reducto once again waves a Blue Flag, an international award that recognises the environmental quality and excellence of the services it offers.

The hoisting ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the Councillor for Beaches, Davinia Déniz, who were accompanied by the councillors of the Government, Óscar López, Eli Merino and Kevin Cortés.

Playa El Reducto is one of only two beaches in Lanzarote that has obtained this recognition in 2025.

During the ceremony, de León stressed that “revalidating the Blue Flag is not only a source of pride for Arrecife, but a sign of the constant work we have been doing to improve our infrastructure, beachfront services and the environmental commitment of this city. Playa El Reducto is an urban reference in sustainability, accessibility and quality of services”.

Councillor for Beaches, Davinia Déniz, highlighted the progress achieved during the last year: “We have improved the public bathrooms, installed solar-powered lockers, increased the frequences of beach cleaning, and implemented a 24-hour emergency point, among other actions that have been key to renew this recognition”.
