This week, Yaiza Ayuntamiento is improving the 7-kilometre-long roads to Papagayo beaches with a total investment of 40,000 euros.
Yaiza Ayuntamiento hired heavy machinery to flatten the road surface, provide aggregate material and compact the surface of the tracks that support a many vehicles every week.
The work comes as Lanzarote heads into the busiest period for the beaches and the Papagayo campsite managed by the Cabildo.
Yaiza Mayor, Óscar Noda, stated “We have executed another action with our own resources because the deterioration [of the road] is greater as a result of the increase in vehicular traffic during the vacation period.”
