Playa Blanca’s harbour will receive its first cruiser in November, Yaiza Mayor Óscar Noda has confirmed. Requests for further dockings by boutique cruisers have also been made for 2026.
After a meeting with the director of Puertos Canarios, Noda said “These will be luxury boats carrying between 200 and 400 passengers with high spending power who are seeking experiences at their destination and may even stay for a night or two.”
Noda indicated that the dockings still required the go-ahead from the Las Palmas Port authority “but from what I have been told, that should be no problem”.
The Mayor has requested a taxi rank within the port area, improved access to the promenade, better signage and more security staff as part of the preparations for launching Playa Blanca as a cruise stop.
