Spain’s weather agency AEMET has extended the yellow alerts for heat and calima conditions until midnight on Friday.
The extension is no surprise – AEMET has forecast that the current conditions are likely to last until Saturday at least, with a significant drop in temperature from Sunday onwards.
Meanwhile, Lanzarote’s Emergency Consortium has recommended that schools and residences for the elderly suspend activities in the open air because of poor air quality.
