Building on a Legendary 2025
Last year’s festivities were a full weekend spectacular, setting a tremendously high bar. The celebrations kicked off on Saturday, March 15th with a unique fusion of cultures on Playa Grande, featuring a demonstration of Hurling and Canarian Wrestling. The energy then moved to the Plaza del Varadero for an evening of powerhouse tribute acts, from Coldplay and U2 to The Queen of Pop.
Sunday, March 16th deepened the cultural exchange with a beautiful twinning ceremony between Irish and Canarian folklore groups, Celtic Roots and Guerma. The plaza again resonated with music, featuring the iconic sounds of Crossfire and the lively rhythms of Kilombo improvisado, leading a captivated crowd into the main event.
The weekend crescendoed on March 17th with the vibrant main gathering at the Plaza del Varadero, preceded by a heartfelt mass at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes and a tribute to five pillars of the local Irish business community. The square thrummed with energy as hundreds enjoyed back-to-back live performances from acclaimed acts like Celtic Roots, Matt Keane & Band, and Sarah Finnegan & Steven Hogan, among many others. The day was capped off by the unforgettable spectacle of the street parade, a river of green that flowed from the San Antonio hotel along the seafront to the Hotel Fariones.
