Arrecife was treated to one of the most highly anticipated days of the Carnival calendar on yesterday, as the carnival parade brought thousands onto the streets.
The event featured 35 floats alongside murgas, comparsas, and batucadas, with carnival-goers flooding the Lanzarote capital in a dazzling display of colour, rhythm, and fantasy.
The procession started at around 6:00 p.m. from the Cruz Roja roundabout on Rambla Medular, winding its way in a lively yet family-friendly atmosphere towards Avenida de Naos, near Agramar. Residents and visitors alike lined the pavements and peered from balconies along the route, soaking up the spectacle and admiring the ingenuity of the costumes and the non-stop entertainment provided by the participating groups.
From 8:00 p.m., the action shifted to Avenida de Naos for a musical event featuring the floats, while carnival festivities sprang up at various locations across the city. The seafront opposite the Ayuntamiento, along with Plaza de Las Palmas and Plaza del Almacén, became open-air stages hosting live performances.
Providing the soundtrack to the evening was an extensive musical line-up including Grupo Son y Más, Frente Banda Nueva, Vocal Force, DJ Germán, Tío Matt, Tabaiba, DJ Javi Sánchez, DJ Falo, Morocho, Los Jarvac, Leyenda Joven, and DJ Nandy. Together they ensured a night defined by high energy, strong attendance, and an unbeatable atmosphere.
