This week, Yaiza Ayuntamiento has concluded a customer service training programme for 60 taxi drivers.
The training was delivered by Patricia Martín at the Molino de Yaiza cultural centre. It was attended by both active taxi drivers and applicants for the municipal taxi licence, for whom the course is a mandatory requirement. The programme combined theoretical instruction with practical application, drawing on the real-world street experience shared by the male and female taxi drivers taking part.
Yaiza’s Councillor for Transportation, Beatriz Vázquez, explained: “Every professional must be aware that they represent not only themselves but also a key sector of the tourism industry in a destination like Yaiza, which ranks among the fourteen with the greatest economic impact in the Canary Islands.”
The training covered factors that foster trust, security and satisfaction in the user experience; the importance of active listening and adapting to different types of customers; strategies for communicating clearly and responding appropriately to comments or uncomfortable situations that may arise during the working day; and the finer details that influence customer satisfaction.
The programme concluded with a commitment to professional improvement. “We want public service users to be satisfied and for professionals to carry out their work in an environment marked by cordiality and mutual respect,” concluded Councillor Beatriz Vázquez.
