The Canarian Government has granted €1.5 million to Lanzarote to be used to improve the island’s waste disposal services.
The subsidy is part of a grant that also saw €2.1 million given to Fuerteventura and comes from the Recovery and Resilience Facility of the EU.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote plans to use the funds to expand and implement new domestic composting points for biodegradable waste, with special attention to food waste. Local Ayuntamientos will also receive money to raise awareness and increase resources for separation of waste.
