The César Manrique Foundation has stated its support for the protest against mass tourism that will take place in Puerto del Carmen on 20th October.
The Foundation issued a short, animated video quoting Manrique himself in 1973, when he said, “The islands are reaching an absurd, clumsy overcrowding, where everything is being killed”.
The video continues by claiming “Lanzarote is dying” and urges people to “demonstrate.”
The protest will take place this Sunday, starting at midday from the Plaza de las Naciones at Los Pocillos and heading towards the old town harbour.
