Lanzarote hotel rates exceed 150 euros in July and August

Lanzarote’s hotel rates increased by 16.8% in July to 150.4 euros per night and by 8.5% in August to 156.8 euros per night on average.

According to the latest tourist accommodation survey by ISTAC, Lanzarote’s hotels earned 70.2 million euros in July and almost 76 million euros in August which is 12.77 million euros more than the same months last year.

Hotel occupancy rates per hotel room stood at 82.5% in July and 85.6% in August.

The average stay in July was 7.7 days while in August it reached 8 days.

However, hotel employment recorded a drop in July with 554 fewer jobs and in August there were 316 fewer jobs compared to last year. There are currently 9,389 people working in the island’s hotels which despite the drop is 2% more than in August last year.
