The Canarian Government has agreed to extend a petrol subsidy to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in 2025.
The subsidy, currently standing at 20 cents per litre, was introduced on the “green islands” of La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro in April this year, and the exclusion of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura caused strong protests from representatives on the island.
The regional government has agreed to study the market on the two eastern islands and establish a subsidy based on the results.
