The Bacchus International Wine Competition is Spain’s leading event in the world of wine and is open to wines, vermouths and wine-producing spirits (piscos, orujos, singanis, brandies) from all over the world. A unique opportunity to recognize the highest quality elaborations endorsed by a panel of more than 80 national and international tasters.

No wine event held in Spain manages to bring together over four days such a team of wine tasting experts as that of the Bacchus panel of judges. More than a hundred names that combine diverse backgrounds with professionalism and experience.

In the 2025 edition of the Bacchus competition, almost 2000 wines were present produced by wineries from across 19 different countries in the world.

Bodegas Timanfaya’s “Moscatel Dulce Selección de la Familia desde 1999” has been awarded a gold medal this year, adding yet another wine to the ever-growing list of awarded winning wines produced on the island.

President of the Regulatory Council of the DOP Vinos de Lanzarote, Jorge Rodríguez, stated “This award is a testament to the extraordinary work of our wineries and the uniqueness that characterises Lanzarote wines. The international recognition reinforces our commitment to the quality and authenticity of our products.”

On Instagram, Bodegas Timanfaya wrote “25 years ago, this same wine already won Gold. And today, after a long sleep between barrels, asleep in the silence of our volcanic cave, it has come back to life to repeat the feat.”
