A Portuguese man has been arrested by Tías local police after assaulting a British tourist on Puerto del Carmen’s Avenida de las Playas.
According to police sources, the incident occurred when the accused, who was riding a scooter in a cycle path, got into an argument with a pair of British tourists who were walking on the path.
Witnesses say that, after the argument, the accused punched one of the tourists, causing him to fall heavily and suffer serious head injuries. The victim was taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital.
The aggressor was arrested on 2nd January.
