The National Police have arrested a man, with no previous offences, as the alleged perpetrator of running an illegal marijuana plantation on the island.
An investigation was launched at the end of September, following a report from Arrecife local police in which they believed that they had found evidence of an illegal marijuana plantation.
The National Police carried out the investigation which led them to an illegal marijuana plantation in which the accused was allegedly the selling produce through a cannabis club that he owned in Costa Teguise.
Once a search warrant was obtained, the police searched the property and found 13 kilos of marijuana buds, 62 marijuana plants, 330 grams of hashish and over 23,000 euros in cash.
The alleged perpetrator is currently awaiting the following legal proceedings.
