Spain’s meteorological agency (AEMET) forecasts rain for the weekend and most of next week.
On Wednesday this week, Canarian Emergency Services declared a state of pre-alert for rough seas as the possibility of rough weather arose as the tail-end of Storm Kirk arrives in the Canaries.
At the time of writing AEMET has not echoed the warning, however, the pre-alert status means that citizens are advised to call off nautical activities on the north and east coasts of the island and stay clear of piers and rocky shores.
Looking at the weather forecast using data from AEMET’s weather station in Tias, there is rain forecast starting from this weekend with a 75% chance on Saturday & an 80% chance on Sunday.
Next week looks set to start off with chances of rain too with a 70% chance on Monday, a 55% chance on Tuesday, a 75% chance on Wednesday and a 35% chance on Thursday.
Remember that forecast rain doesn’t always mean a downpour and will most likely be a light shower.
