UPTOMOON in Playa Honda, is a state-of-the-art photography studio with some incredible new features. Last month we visited and chatted to owner Eileen, who told us about this fantastic venture.
Uptomoon is a new business in Playa Honda. Can you tell us a little about what we can expect?
It’s a studio space where you can take all kinds of photos – fun, professional, or family photos – freely, without pressure, and without the stress of posing in front of a photographer because you take them yourself. It’s a bit like a selfie, but with a professional camera in a professional studio. It’s a space to connect with yourself, your subjects and let go.
We love this idea. Where did you get the idea for this type of business?
I’ve been fortunate enough to travel a lot and noticed this is a very common concept in Asia; but it also exists here in Spain, in both Madrid and Barcelona. I decided to visit one of the studios in Madrid with my nieces, to do something different, and we loved it. So I went again with my family, and also on my own, and it was a pleasant surprise to see how we behaved without the pressure of having a photographer in front of us. I’m a photographer myself, so I understand that feeling very well.
How do we visit your studio to use this innovative service?
We work by appointment, which can be made through Instagram. All you have to do is reserve the space with the time you need, and that’s it. You can do outfit changes, fun photos, photos for professional profiles, couple photos… the sky’s the limit!
Can we just drop in, or do we have to make an appointment?
Always by appointment, although we’ll probably announce some days without a set time.
How much would a photo shoot cost in your studio?
We start at €20, which includes up to 200 photos, and we have a price range up to €120 for sessions with, for example, 9 people.
Can we bring our pets to the studio?
Of course! Pets are part of the family.
Do we need to bring any digital storage, like a hard drive or USB drive, to take the photos we take in the studio?
No, we’ll send everything to you after the session, approximately 10 minutes later, via email to a cloud storage service where you can access and download your photos for a week.
