AEMET has declared a yellow alert for rainfall and storms on Lanzarote and the Canaries as storm Garoé passes the islands today.
The alert commenced at 9 am and will last until midnight. 15 mm of rain in an hour is predicted, with the northern and western facing parts of the island worst affected.
The storm alert warns of possible hailstorms.
